Influence of the angle between two crown ether moieties on supramolecular copolymerization of bis(crown ether)s and bisparaquat homoditopic monomers

Bis(crown ether) homoditopic monomers containing two bis(p-phenylene)-34-crown-10 moieties with different angles(180° for monomer 3,120°for monomer 4,and 60°for monomer 5) and a complementary bisparaquat homoditopic monomer(7) were designed and synthesized.The three bis(crown ether) monomers could organize into linear supramolecular polymers in concentrated solutions in CHCl3/CH3CN with the bisparaquat monomer 7,as demonstrated by 1 H NMR and viscosity studies. Performance of non-thermal DBD plasma reactor during the removal of hydrogen sulfide

Destruction of hydrogen sulfide using dielectric barrier discharge plasma in a coaxial cylindrical reactor was carried out at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. Three types of DBD reactor were compared in terms of specific energy density (SED), equivalent capacitances of the gap (Cg) and the dielectric barrier (Cd), energy yield (EY), and H₂S decomposition. In addition, byproducts during the decomposition of H₂S and destruction mechanism were also investigated. SED for all the reactors depended almost linearly on the voltage. In general, Cg decreased with increasing voltage and with the existence of pellet material, while Cd displayed the opposite trend. The removal efficiency of H₂S increased substantially with increasing AC frequency and applied voltage. Longer gas residence times also contributed to higher H₂S removal efficiency. The choice of pellet material was an important factor influencing the H₂S removal. The reactor filled with ceramic Raschig rings had the best H₂S removal performance, with an EY of 7.30 g/kWh. The likely main products in the outlet effluent were H₂O, SO₂, and SO₃.     

High selectively oxidative bromination of toluene derivatives by the H_2O_2-HBr system

An aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and hydrogen bromide illuminated by a 60 W incandescent light bulb serves as a source of bromine radicals.Various substituted toluenes（NO₂,Cl,Br,H,CH₃） were high selectively brominated at the benzyl position for monobromination in CH₂C1₂ at ice water with catalyst free.This simple but effective bromination of toluene derivatives with an aqueous H₂O₂-HBr system is characterized with the use of inexpensive reagents and a lower impact on the environment, which make it a good alternative to the existing bromination methods.     

同轴电喷法制备PCL-蛋清体系复合微胶囊

以鸡蛋的卵清蛋白作为蛋白质药物模板、生物可降解材料聚己内酯(PCL)为药物载体模板,采用同轴电喷法制备PCL-蛋清体系的复合微球.研究了电导率、黏度对于电喷微球成型的影响.核壳溶液推进速率比、电压、溶液质量分数和接收距离等对于所得微球表面形态和结构的影响.利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)研究了微球的表面形态,用荧光显微镜表征了微球的包覆模式.结果表明:同轴电喷法可以制备PCL-蛋清体系的复合结构微胶囊,其中推进速率比对微球形貌、粒径及其分布的影响比较明显,当PCL与蛋清溶液推进速率比大于10时,将出现具有包覆结构的微球.

Continuous-wave laser at 453 nm based on frequency-doubled diode-pumped Nd:ASL crystal

Efficient and compact is generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-pumped Sr_1−x La _{x − y} Nd _y Mg _x Al_{12 − x} O₁₉(Nd:ASL) laser at 906 nm. With 10.3 W of diode pump power and the frequency-doubling crystal LiB₃O₆ (LBO), a maximum output power of 281 mW in the blue spectra] range at 453 nm has been achieved, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 2.7%; the output power stability over 4 h is better than 3.8%.     

Design and fabrication of subwavelength nanogratings based light-emitting diodes

Linearly polarized light from InGaN green light emitting diode grown on (0001) oriented sapphire is demonstrated by using subwavelength metallic nanogratings. Polarization ratio can reach 7:1 (∼88%), the highest ever reported from a single light emitting device. We discuss the design and fabrication of this device in detail.     

Ibuprofen induced drug loaded polymeric micelles

Three model drugs with different function groups were chosen to dialyze with dextran-graft-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide).Only ibuprofen could induce the formation of drug loaded micelles,which was confirmed with dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscope.Hydrogen-bonding between the amide groups of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) and the carboxyl groups of ibuprofen was driving force for the drug-loaded micelle.It was also found that the diameter of the ibuprofen-loaded micelles changed reversibly against temperature.
